IHS Action Center is a great place to start! This tool allows you to add your voice and take action on any current issues that affect your practice. IHS Members have access to other Advocacy webpages that breakdown current initiatives on the International, Federal, and State/Provincial levels as well as resources.
The IHS Government Affairs team has a selection of on-demand webinars and upcoming events for you to participate in. These events are designed to make it easy for you to get started in advocacy. Check out the list of webinars and events here.
Be engaged at the state/provincial level, participate in your state/provincial chapter and IHS fly-ins, cultivate relationships with elected officials, and assist in any grassroots initiatives IHS runs.
They support monitoring platforms for all 50 states, Congress, and all of Canada as well as more limited engagements in states or provinces where IHS needs local counsel.
To remain in good standing with IHS, all chapters are required to complete and submit the Chapter Dues form by the end of February each year and the Annual Chapter Report by the end of March each year. If there are changes to your chapter board, you must inform IHS of these updates using the Officer Update Form.
Use the Orientation Slide Deck and Transition Planning Checklist to set expectations and ensure continuity. Both are located on the Chapter Leader Resource page for chapter leader access only.
Use the IHS Course Approval Process to ensure your event qualifies for CE credit. Approved events are listed on the IHS Event Calendar and featured in The Hearing Professional magazine.
